About Champion Swan
Founded in 2023, Champion Swan is a legal search and recruitment firm. We conduct searches for law firms and advise law firm partners on career moves. Our reach covers firm to firm M&A and local/international firm affiliation.
Across our jurisdictions of interest, we also manage growth and succession projects for in-house legal teams in various large listed companies, government bodies and sovereign entities.
We have worked across many jurisdictions with a focus on the UK, western Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The Team
David Rolles
David focuses on searches in the UK and western Europe and has helped partners in most practice areas move in these jurisdictions.
He also manages senior in-house searches, and leads our Due Diligence product.
Mike Bishop
Mike has 23 years’ experience in executive search with the last 14 years focused on international legal recruitment.
His geographic coverage includes countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council, Africa and Asia; working with top UK and US international firms, large locally listed companies and sovereign wealth entities.

Search
We undertake searches for law firms looking to make a key strategic hire or hires. Typically, we work for law firms on partner hires, team moves, building new practice areas, or opening new offices. We also work on searches for senior in-house lawyers, cross-industry and geography.
Due Diligence
Due Diligence is an integral part of any senior hire. We investigate your candidate’s standing in the market among clients and peers, their personal reputation, assess their experience of leadership and of client origination, and stress test their client following. Our reports give you the information to allow you to make hiring decisions fully informed.
Mergers, Acquisitions and Affiliations
Quite often, our clients are looking for more robust and meaningful growth through acquisition of a smaller law office or through a merge with a competitor. International firms are expanding into new countries or regions and may wish to achieve this through integrating with a local office. Giving geographical presence, local knowledge, and local experience. In some jurisdictions this is a prerequisite that incoming international firm must partner with a local law office in order to practice. We have the experience, understanding and reach for such mandates.
